About the Day

Rooted in the charm of the Finger Lakes and inspired by the couple’s shared love for nature and design, Mariam and Jacob’s wedding at The Lake House on Canandaigua was as meaningful as it was beautiful. The two met during the pandemic in New York City and bonded over their upstate beginnings, so it felt only fitting to return to that landscape for their celebration. Planned and designed by Jacob’s mother, Ellie Clapp of Celebrated Events, the day unfolded as a modern ode to Old World botanicals—woodland textures, elegant lakefront touches, and intimate Brooklyn style all seamlessly woven together. It was a day full of heart, history, and intentional beauty.
