Chanel and Michael’s destination wedding in Antigua was an absolute highlight of my 2022 wedding season. It goes without saying that the natural beauty of the Caribbean could make any event a dream to photograph, but coupled with the bride’s love of fashion, it truly was the epitome of perfection to me.
For those that don’t know, I used to be in charge of capturing those incredible editorial shots you see in the fashion industry before my career shifted to luxury weddings! I can still feel those influences within me today whenever I show up to document a wedding!
An Impromptu Photoshoot at Sunset on Arrival Day
When I arrived on Thursday, I met Chanel and Michael moments after dropping my bags off in my hotel room at the luxurious Admirals Inn. We took a quick hike to an outlook with stunning views and captured a few portraits during an absolutely epic golden hour. We only had a small window of time to make these photos work, but it was WORTH IT.
White Welcome Cocktail Party
Before welcome cocktails officially kicked off, I met Chanel and Mike poolside for a pre-wedding photoshoot. We included shots of them browsing their wedding announcement and had so much fun. Before long, it was time for their white welcome party, and everyone dressed to impress! There truly was no shortage of cocktails and good vibes. With all of the wedding details finalized, Chanel and Michael could enjoy themselves and truly remain present with their guests, which was so special to witness. Chanel and many of her girlfriends were NFL cheerleaders, and they brought such energy to the destination wedding group that you just knew you were in for a weekend to remember.
Destination Wedding in Antigua
Words will TRULY never be enough here, so thank goodness I’m a wedding photographer. One of the things I love about destination weddings (and intimate guest lists in general) is the fact that only the couple’s closest friends and family are in attendance, and you can truly feel the genuine emotion for the couple in the air. As a truly elegant and stunning affair, their wedding venue boasted an extraordinary layout – two sides of the same mountain connected by a magical boat shuttle. The setting provided some stunning photo opportunities to capture these unforgettable memories! I couldn’t have felt more in my element.
A Playful Wedding Reception at Admirals Inn
For the reception, the Caribbean-inspired blue color palette felt effortlessly chic. The decor truly embraced the couple’s more playful side, and I was in awe when Chanel strolled in wearing a stunning floral midi reception dress. To top off what was an incredible day, the evening ended with everyone jumping in the pool for an impromptu pool party. The entire day was magic!
