Paige and Kam are one of those couples you can’t help but smile when you are around – they are clearly just head over heels for one another and their wedding day was just magical to witness. Their wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens was sweet and romantic, but also just a lot of fun. from their sweet first look in the outdoor gardens to the last dance of the night, there was no shortage of smiles or champagne! It was truly such a treat working at one of my favorite NYC wedding venues and I already can’t wait to return.
A First Look before the Wedding Ceremony
I knew I was in for something special from the moment I arrived to capture Paige’s “getting ready” photos. Both her mother and her bridal party were so wonderful and everyone looked absolutely stunning. When she was ready, we headed into the outdoor gardens for one of the most precious first looks I’ve ever witnessed. The gorgeous backdrops (combined with Paige’s stunning wedding dress) were truly a photographer’s dream. Both of them were so expressive and excited to see one another. My heart was swelling from behind the camera!
Wedding Ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
One of the greatest gifts you can give your wedding photographer is a wedding venue with great lighting – and there was no shortage during this wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Despite seeing Paige during their first look, Kam teared up instantly when he saw Paige walking toward him down the aisle. If you are planning a wedding right now, here’s a little tip: don’t believe a first look takes away from any of that ceremony magic. If anything, it enhances it.
An Evening Wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
After the ceremony, the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens completely transformed into their gorgeous wedding reception space. It was here that I really got to appreciate how much love their friends and family have for this sweet, sweet couple. The toasts were incredibly personal (with a mix of heartfelt memories and bursts of laughter). Paige and Kam delighted their guests with an incredible choreographed first dance and lots of laughs as they played “the shoe game”. Everyone had an extraordinary time as the evening went on, filled with champagne and dancing.
If you are getting married in NYC (or beyond!), I hope you found as much inspiration and joy in Paige and Kam’s wedding as I did. If you are looking for a wedding photographer with a documentary style, to capture your wedding memories exactly as they unfold, I would love to hear from you. I’m always sharing real love stories on Instagram, or (can we skip to the good part?) you can connect with me directly here.
